Art Guidelines and General Information for Screen Printing

We can view many file types, but the ones we prefer are designed in vector based programs such as Adobe Illustrator CS or Adobe Freehand MX ( .ai or .eps). Each object in a vector file can be selected and individually manipulated independently from the rest of the image. When providing such files, it is important to create outlines or convert to curves for all text used.

We have highly skilled digitizers with years of experience to ensure your logo is of the highest quality. Our embroidery machines are Tajima & Melco which require .dst format files.

Laser/Diamond Engraving
The lasers use an intense pinpoint beam of light that engrave or etch into an item. The depth of the engraving is dependent on the material. The laser beam needs to be in focus to engrave so we generally engrave on flat items. Mugs and drinkware can be held in a special rotary holder that will turn the item as it is lasered. We can engrave graphics and text in materials such as wood, acrylics, plastics and colour coated metals.

Diamond Engraving
A diamond tip is used to cut into the material (usually metal) being engraved. Think of a pen tip and the line thickness you can draw with it and this will give you an idea as to how engraved lines with diamonds tips appear

Art Guidelines and General Information for Engraving

Anything from line drawings to black & white photos can be laser engraved. Our standard artwork is PC format Corel Draw, .eps or .tiff files. Keep in mind these lasers cannot cut into bare metal and as such will only remove the colour surface coatings of our engraving metals. We do have a coating that when applied to a stainless steel surface will turn the lasered area black.
